Pat Musi joins B1 Racing to tune Khalid Mohammed’s Pro Nitrous entry

DOHA, Qatar – For B1 Racing’s Khalid Mohammed, the news that veteran engine builder and eight-time Pro Street world champion Pat Musi was joining the team as the crew chief on his Pro Nitrous entry came as great news on many levels. It’s well known in the Pro Mod world that Pat Musi builds great engines and can generate championship-winning horsepower, and that alone would make most drivers ecstatic. But for Mr. Mohammed, there’s history here.

“Pat Musi is the one who taught me to drive a Pro Mod in 2005, so to have him on board tuning our car is very exciting,” Mr. Mohammed said. “I had been driving since around 1996 and had a lot of success in places like Kuwait and UAE, but we wanted to step things up, so I bought a ’63 Corvette in the States in 2005, and then flew over to get licensed and test the car – with Pat helping me and coaching me all along the way.”

Since then, Mr. Mohammed has advanced his career to where he sits now – as the lone nitrous driver in the B1 Racing stable, and positioned currently at number three in a tight race for the Arabian Drag Racing League’s Championship. He won the first Round of the ADRL 2010-11 season, and most recently was runner-up last week in Round 4.

“Pat is an awesome tuner and a good friend, so I know things will be great with him coming on board right now. To add someone of his caliber at this point in the season will be the extra push that can get us to the top.”

Jumping right into the mix, Musi will tune Mr. Mohammed’s car in Round 5 action this Thursday and Friday, and then will be with the team at least through the end of the season in late February.
