B1 Racing’s best keeps getting better in ADRL R7 qualifying

DOHA, Qatar (February 10, 2011) – B1 Racing drivers are moving quicker and quicker as the days go on, with personal-best times dropping like the setting sun across the Arabian desert. All three B1 drivers are provisionally qualified for the Arabian Drag Racing League Championship Series Round 7 eliminations scheduled to begin Friday afternoon; one final qualifier remains.

Pro Nitrous driver Khalid Mohammed, blasted to another personal best elapsed time, recording 3.813-seconds at 195.76 mph, earning the provisional No. 3 spot overnight. Pro Extreme drivers Ali Aryan and Joshua Hernandez are both provisionally qualified as well. Hernandez sits No. 7 with a 3.687 at 204.76, and Aryan No. 2 with another personal best of 3.620 seconds at 207.56 mph.

“That last run we made really felt good – for a lot of reasons,” Said Josh Hernandez. “For whatever reason, our car has struggled to get down the track in the last couple of races, so to get a ’60 and be in the show – even overnight, it feels good for all of us.

“As a whole, the B1 team is really making huge strides – both Ali and Khalid are running like their tails are on fire, setting personal bests and dropping their numbers like crazy. Things are good, and getting better and better as we head into the finals and the Battle for the Belt. It’s a great time to peak,” Hernandez said.

Ali Aryan agreed. “We’re having good success, and the cars are all running well. This is a good race so far for B1, and tomorrow should be even better.”

One final round of qualifying remains on Friday, followed by eliminations for the eight-car fields.
